Our story: How spontaneous help became an organization

We are a Swiss non-profit organization led by cultural worker Bänz Margot, who has been assisting Ukrainian victims with evacuations, individual help and direct financial support since the start of the war, working closely with local partners.

The first day of the Russian invasion

In the early morning of 24 February 2022, Bernese Bänz Margot was awakened by explosions in Odessa. The Russian invasion of Ukraine had begun.

Contrary to his fears, Bänz decided to stay in the region and help those affected by the war. He participated in evacuations and food transports to isolated villages. In a short time, a powerful network was created that provides direct aid on various fronts. Human Front Aid was born.

Many people affected by the war are currently living in precarious conditions in Ukraine. Thanks to a simple organisational structure, Human Front Aid provides flexible assistance where it is most needed. Financial resources are deployed directly without significant administrative overhead.
